THE KNIGHT CAP

• Bella Battles to the Top - Fresh off a stellar campaign from a year ago, Bella Phillips (Bellingham, Wash./Squalicum High School) wasted little time winning her first event of the season. The sophomore picked up three straight tech fall victories before notching a 7-2 win in the finals. Overall, she outscored her opponents 38-2 in the meet. 
• Coming Up Roses: Making a strong impression to begin the year, Rose Cassioppi (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) earned a second place finish that nearly was a title at 160 pounds. She won her first four matches without giving up a point before falling 3-2 in the finals for a strong runner-up performance. 
• Podium Placements: Multiple other Golden Knights earned points for the team in Sunday's meet. Caroline Biegel (Ringwood, N.J./DePaul Catholic) secured fourth at 207, while Jada Badayos-Chavez rattled off three straight wins following a quarterfinal loss to claim fifth. Both Lili Ujfalvi (Kecskemet-heteny, Hungary/Bolyai Janos Secondary School) and Joelle Scott (Cranesville, Pa./SPIRE Institute) took sixth. 
• Team Success: Gannon finished the meet fifth as a team, scoring 18 points. Lehigh won the meet with 30.
