O'FALLON, IL - Another program record has been shattered. Alexandros Kotskar (Voula, Greece/Athinaiki Agogh) earned his spot at the top of the record books as Gannon earned a sweep of Ottawa and McKendree to close the WWPA Bearcat Clash on Sunday.

THE KNIGHT CAP

GAME 1
  • He Stands Alone: Alexandros Kotskar (Voula, Greece/Athinaiki Agogh) had already set the program record for career points earlier this year. Now, he owns the top mark for career goals. His two quick tallies in the win gave him 288 for his career, shattering the previous record.

  • Strong Start: Gannon outscored Ottawa 5-1 in the first period, including three from Kotskar. He tallied the first two goals of the game.

  • Nikiforos a Force: Nikiforos Liantziris (Athens, Greece/) found the net four times in the win and was Gannon's second highest goal scorer.

  • Special Teams: Gannon once again was better than their opponent in special teams, going 3-8 on the powerplay and limiting Ottawa to just 2-12 with the man advantage.

GAME 2
  • Victor's Victory: Like Saturday, Victor Volant (Fuveau, France/) was tremendous in a conference tilt. He tallied five goals on six shots to lead the Golden Knights.

  • Balanced scoring: Gannon had seven players find the back of the net at least once, and three Golden Knights players scored twice (Liantziris, Kotskar, Farsang)

  • Fighting Until The Finish: McKendree didn't go down without a fight. The Bearcats would score twice in the final 90 seconds to cut the deficit to 15-14. But Gannon held in the final ten seconds to secure another conference win.

THE NEXT GAME
