Petersen Repeats as PSAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference today announced its Golf Athletes of the Week with Gannon's Ditte Petersen (Dianalund, Denmark/Sorø Akademi Skole) repeating as the Women's Golf Athlete of the Week after winning the initial award a week ago. It's the third time she has received the honor. The junior was also selected once in the fall.

A native of Denmark, Petersen finished in a tie for third for the second straight week, this time while competing in the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invite. She paced Gannon to a sixth-place showing while competing against a strong field of 14 teams.

Petersen opened the tournament with a 74 and was tied for sixth after 18 holes. She would move up to a tie for third while shooting a 77 under adverse conditions on Sunday. She finished with a 7-over par total of 151. The golfers were forced to play in winds gusts that approached 30 mph along wind chills in the 40's.

Petersen was one of only 19 golfers out of 85 to break 80. It is her sixth top five finish this season.
