Men's Basketball Team Enters Final Week of Regular Season in Top Five of NABC, D2CSC Polls

ERIE, Pa. – The regular season has reached its final week and the Gannon men's basketball team remained in the top five in both the NABC Division II Top 25 and the D2CSC Media Poll following a pair of victories last week. The Golden Knights remained fourth in the D2CSC Media Poll and stayed fifth in the NABC Division II Top 25 after moving up two spots last week. Both polls were released on Tuesday.

Coupled with the women's basketball team being ranked fourth in the latest WBCA Division II Top 25 it once again marks the first season both of Gannon's basketball teams have resided in the top five in the national polls at the same time.

The men's team improved to 25-2 under first-year head coach Jordan Fee following an 84-78 win at Mercyhurst followed by a 117-91 victory on Senior Day over Pitt-Johnstown this past Sunday. The two wins boosted Gannon's winning streak to 14 games. Gannon has wins over three teams in each poll.

The top team in the nation changed as West Texas A&M fell to 24-2 with a loss and is now fourth in the NABC poll and third in the D2CSC rankings. That vaulted defending national champion – and Fee's former team – Nova Southeastern (22-2) – into the top spot in both polls.

Fort Lewis (24-2) and Minnesota State (26-2) also moved up a spot in the NABC poll to second and third, respectively. Minnesota State is second in the D2CSC poll. Northwest Missouri State rounds out the top five in the D2CSC poll.

Gannon concludes the regular season on Saturday, March 2 playing at Seton Hill.
