BEREA, Ohio – Grad student Kat Pendergrass (Bracey, Va./South Granville (N.C.)) and freshman Bella Phillips (Bellingham, Wash./Squalicum High School) claimed first-place finishes on Sunday to highlight the Gannon women's wrestling team's performance at the Baldwin Wallace Open on Sunday.
 
Pendergrass won the 110-pound weight class by going 3-0, and Phillips won the 180-pound division with a 3-0 mark at Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
 
Pendergrass was dominant, winning by a technical fall and two falls. She claimed the title by pinning Montreat's Chloe Carver in 1:26.
 
Meanwhile, Phillips recorded two technical falls and one fall on her way to her title. She earned a 10-0 tech fall over unattached wrestler Dymanique Jones in the championship match.
 
Gannon's Brenna McCarley (North Tonawanda/North Tonawanda High) also placed second at 117 pounds.
 
Gannon placed third in the team race with 92 points, trailing Baldwin Wallace (111.5) and Alma (97).
