ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon volleyball team hopes to begin its quest for a third consecutive PSAC Tournament championship when the Golden Knights host Seton Hill in a PSAC quarterfinal match on Tuesday.

Coach Matt Darling's Gannon team won the PSAC West regular-season season title with a 13-1 record and claimed the No. 1 seed from the Western Division. If the Golden Knights can defeat the fourth-seeded Griffins, Gannon would host the PSAC Final Four and championship match on Friday and Saturday at Hagerty Family Events Center.

Gannon recently clinched its eighth consecutive division title, a run that includes four PSAC West titles and four PSAC Northwest titles. During the past seven tournaments, Gannon has won the quarterfinal matchup each time. In fact, during those seven tournaments, GU advanced to the finals six times and won three conference championships.

Gannon (21-6 overall) welcomes a Seton Hill team that is seeking its 20th victory after going 19-8 in the regular season and 8-6 in the PSAC West. Gannon defeated Seton Hill twice during the regular season, but the two victories were dramatically different. On Sept. 28 in Greensburg, Gannon trailed SHU 2-1 before rallying to win in five sets. On Oct 26 in Erie, the Knights swept the Griffins 3-0.

Gannon has won 14 of its past 15 matches, with the only loss coming in a five-set setback against Clarion.
