Gannon men's golf team soars to No. 13 in Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll

Golden Knights move from unranked to No. 13 after memorable fall season

The Gannon men's golf team is ranked No. 13 in NCAA Division II in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll.

The Golden Knights, led by Director of Golf Scott Stano, had not been ranked in the previous three polls, but their stellar play in the fall season vaulted them from not being among the Top 25 to No. 13 in poll released Friday. Gannon was also ranked No. 13 in the latest Clippd rankings.

GU played in seven tournaments during the fall season, and the Knights won five tournament championships. They placed second and third in the other two events.

The Golden Knights' season was highlighted by a dominant performance in the PSAC Championships as Gannon won by 40 strokes to claim its first conference title. Sophomore Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) won the PSAC title and Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) placed second.

Gannon also won team titles at the Ferris State Bulldog Fall Classic, the Sunnehanna Collegiate tourney, the Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational, and the Davenport University Panther Invitational.

Parrini won three individual championships, and redshirt sophomore Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) claimed one tournament title.
