EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Lili Ujfalvi (Kecskemet-heteny, Hungary/Bolyai Janos Secondary School) won the 143-pound title, and two other Gannon wrestlers placed third on Sunday in the Pa. State Tournament.

Ujfalvi, a 2022-23 All-American, won twice after receiving a first-round bye as she led the Golden Knights, who placed fifth among eight teams.

Gannon earned 17 team points to finish behind champion host East Stroudsburg (47), Lock Haven (39), Ursinus (26), and Delaware Valley (21).

Jayden Bazemore (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Ranch) (123 pounds) and Schyler Caringi (Earlton, N.Y./Coxsackie-Athens) (170) each finished third in their weight division. Kat Pendergrass (Bracey, Va./South Granville (N.C.)) (116) placed fourth, and Juliana Cubias (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Aliso Niguel) (116) took fifth.

This was Ujfalvi's second tournament title of the year, and both have them have come at Koehler Fieldhouse. She won the 143-pound weight class at the season-opening East Stroudsburg Open.

In her seven-wrestler weight class on Sunday, Ujfalvi owned the No. 1 seed and received a first-round bye into the semifinals. She then defeated Cloe Charlesworth of Ursinus 10-5 in the semifinals before downing Olivia Kinder of Delaware Valley 9-0 in the championship match.

Bazemore, a sophomore, finished the day with a 3-1 record, all against East Stroudsburg wrestlers. She beat Waverly Kanelong of East Stroudsburg 10-4 in the quarterfinals before losing to ESU's Mia Macaluso of East Stroudsburg in the semifinals. Bazemore then recorded back-to-back 10-0 victories in the consolation bracket to claim third place.

After receiving a first-round, Caringi lost to Stella Steigler of Lock Haven by fall. Caringi then won by pin over Cedar Crest College's Sarah Seltzer.  Caringi defeated Lock Haven's Azariah Moore 5-3 in the third-place match.

Pendergrass and Cubias each went 2-2 in the 116-pound weight class as they finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
