Gannon Adds Seven Mid-Year Transfers to 2024 Roster

ERIE, Pa. – Gannon University head football coach Erik Raeburn has announced the addition of seven mid-year transfers as the first additions for the 2024 roster.
 
"We are very excited with the talent and experience we were able to add to our team," related Raeburn. "We can't wait to see the impact they can make in our program this spring."
 
The seven transfers include four players on the offensive end – three receivers and a tight end – along with three players on the defensive side of the ball. The three receivers, include two from PSAC West rival Edinboro, come in with a combined 239 career receptions.

Armani Bailey, WR – Edinboro (Lincoln, Pa. / Woodland Hills)
Trey Cain, DB – Eastern New Mexico (Las Vegas, Nev. / Liberty)
Napoleon Harris, WR – Notre Dame (Ohio) (Columbus, Ohio / Eastmoor Academy)
Payton Henderson, TE – Butte (Calif.) College (Redding, Calif. / University Prep)
Nate Henrich, LB – Saint Francis (Pa.) (Eden, N.Y. / St. Francis)
Sir Jerome Treadwell, DE – Youngstown State (Washington, DC / Archbishop Carroll)
Michael Watkins, WR – Edinboro (Pompano Beach, Fla. / American Heritage School)
 
Armani Bailey – the 5'8", 180 lb. wide receiver played three seasons at Edinboro, finishing with 92 career receptions for 915 yards and 3 TDs in 30 games … also served as a return man for the Fighting Scots, averaging 15.9 yards on 16 kickoff returns and 10.2 yards on 20 punt returns … 2023: In 11 games led Edinboro in receptions with 45 for 511 yards with 2 TDs, adding 11 kickoff returns for a 19.6 yard average and eight punt returns for an 8.1 yard average … in his last four games totaled 27 receptions, including eight catches for 96 yards and a touchdown vs. Clarion … caught seven passes for 70 yards against Gannon … added seven catches for 51 yards vs. Lock Haven, six for 114 yards and a TD against Seton Hill, and six for 85 vs. Slippery Rock … 2022: In 11 games caught 26 passes for 173 yards and one touchdown …  also averaged 11.6 yards on 12 punt returns and 8.0 on five kickoffs … 2021: Played in eight games finishing with 21 receptions for 231 yards.

Trey Cain – Cain is a 5'9", 190 lb. defensive back who played in 2023 at Eastern New Mexico, a member of the Lone Star Conference … played in 10 games and finished as the fourth-leading tackler with 45 stops, including 29 solo … had 2.5 TFL and an interception, along with two passes broken up and a blocked kick … finished with season-high nine tackles vs. Western Oregon … in 2021 and 2022 played at City College of San Francisco … in 2022 appeared in eight games making 27 tackles ... had two pass breakups, along with a sack … had a season-best 10 tackles in win over Diablo Valley ... helped team go 7-4 … in 2021 as a freshman played in 11 contests helping team go 13-0 ... had two pass breakups.

Napoleon Harris – the 6'1", 175 lb. wide receiver played in 33 games at Notre Dame (Ohio) with 58 career receptions for 820 yards and 4 TDs … 2023: As a senior appeared in 10 games with 20 receptions for 240 yards and 2 TDs … had six catches for 72 yards vs. West Liberty … 2022: In nine games, caught 17 passes for 270 yards, averaging 15.9 yards per catch ... had career-high six catches for 121 yards, along with a touchdown, against Wheeling … 2021: Appeared in nine games with 10 receptions for 150 yards, an average 15.0 yards per catch … 2020: Played in five games in a shortened season ... grabbed 11 passes for 160 yards with one touchdown receiving and one rushing … redshirted in 2019.

Payton Henderson – played for Butte College the last two years ... a 6'2", 235 lb. tight end … had one reception for a yard but known for his blocking … Roadrunners finished at 9-2. Ending with a 30-24 win over Reedley in Northern California Bowl … in 2022 played in seven games as a linebacker, finishing with nine tackles, four of those solo … had one TFL … Butte finished with a 7-4 record.

Nate Henrich -- a 6'5", 250 lb. defensive end he was a redshirt freshman last year at Saint Francis (Pa.) … after redshirting in 2022 played in three games in 2023 with five tackles, four of those solo … had three solo tackles vs. Robert Morris. 

Sir Jerome Treadwell … a 6'2", 230 lb. defensive end who played three seasons at Youngstown State … after redshirting in 2021 played in five games as a reserve on the defensive line in 2022 … had a solo tackle vs. Dayton and a QB hurry vs. Indiana State … in 2023, appeared in two games finishing with two tackles, assists against Robert Morris and South Dakota State, as Penguins finished at 8-5 and made it to the second round of the NCAA Div. I FCS Championships.

Mike Watkins – a 5'10", 175 lb. wide receiver, he played three seasons and 28 games at Edinboro with 89 career receptions for 1,035 yards and 10 TDs … also had 12 kickoff returns for a 23.3 yard average … 2023: Finished third in receptions with 35 for 385 yards and a team-high 4 TDs while playing in eight games … returned four kickoffs for an average of 25.8 yards … hauled in nine passes for 108 yards and a touchdown vs. Bloomsburg, adding eight catches for 93 yards and a TD vs. Gannon and seven receptions for 95 yards and a score against Indiana (Pa.) … 2022: Finished tied for third in receptions with 26 for 326 yards with 3 TDs … also returned seven kickoffs for a 23.9 yard average … 2021: Played in nine games and finished with 28 receptions for 342 yards and 3 TDs.
