Woodworth Registers Two Goals in Loss at 22nd-Ranked Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, PA. McKenna Woodworth (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) scored twice to push her career total to 97 goals as Gannon dropped a 15-4 decision at PSAC West preseason favorite and 22nd-ranked Seton Hill on Wednesday afternoon. Gannon is 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the PSAC West. Seton Hill improved to 5-3 and 3-0, respectively.

Gannon opened the scoring four minutes into the match on the xxx goal of the season by Angie George (Brecksville, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban). Seton Hill answered with the next nine goals, leading 3-1 after one period and 9-2 at the half. Woodworth scored her first goal with 36 seconds left in the half.

The Griffins ran off the first three goals of the third period over the first six minutes to go ahead 12-2. Grace Cunningham (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) scored off a feed from Avrey Kirisits (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central) at the 5:34 mark. Woodworth accounted for Gannon's remaining goal, her 17th of the season and 97th of her career, with just over nine minutes remaining in the match.

Seton Hill held a 40-17 advantage in shots, including 30-12 on shots on goal. Gannon committed 22 turnovers compared to eight for the Griffins. Seton Hill was successful on all 19 clear attempts while the Golden Knights were 15-of-25.

Haleigh Manning (Milton, Ga./Cambridge) played all 60 minutes in goal and had 15 saves.

Gannon returns to action on Sunday, March 26 hosting D'Youville in a non-conference match. The action gets underway at 12 noon.
