MEET OUTLOOK

Brandy Duren will be home in Oregon again on Friday, but this time she will be leading the Gannon University acrobatics & tumbling team.

Gannon's first-year head coach returns to the campus where she competed for the University of Oregon during her acrobatics & tumbling career from 2012 to 2015.

Duren was a member of three national championship teams and a national runner-up team for the Ducks. She also competed on three event national championship squads, two in Tumbling and one in Toss.

After serving as Gannon's assistant coach in 2022, Duren took over the top spot in November after former coach Jacquie Eshleman left to start a program at Iona.

The Golden Knights, ranked No. 2 nationally, have won three meets in a row after opening with a loss to No. 6 Limestone.

Gannon has beaten West Liberty, Kutztown, and No. 3 Azusa Pacific. The Knights edged Azusa by less than a point -- 265.630-265.305 – to open their western spring trip on Monday night in California.
In 2022, Gannon defeated Oregon 275.690-271.270 during their spring trip.

HIGH-SCORING DUCKS

Oregon is off to a strong start in 2023 with wins in their first two meets.

The Ducks have recorded impressive scores in beating Augustana (S.D.) 268.685-251.655 and then defeating Azusa Pacific 272.510-269.275 on Feb. 17.

The Ducks' scores from the meets are two of the highest scores in the country this season.

Oregon is coached by Taylor Susnara, a former teammate of Duren's. Susnara was a freshman at Oregon in 2015 when Duren was a senior.

TOUGH SCHEDULE

Oregon is facing arguably the toughest schedule in the nation this year.

The Ducks already faced No. 3 Azusa Pacific and will face No. 2 Gannon on Friday.

After that, Oregon will meet No. 1 – and seven-time defending national champion – Baylor in back-to-back meets home and away.

The Ducks will then close by facing Azusa again in their season finale before preparing for the NCATA National Championships.

HOMEWARD BOUND

After Friday's meet, Gannon will return to Erie and will have about two weeks off before returning to action. The Golden Knights will host Adrian College on Saturday, March 18, at the Highmark Events Center.
