Gannon Continues to Climb in National Polls

Golden Knights now 11th in NABC Top 25 and 12th in D2CSC poll

ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon men's basketball team continued its climb up the Division II national rankings. The Golden Knights are now perched just outside the top ten after opening the season with ten straight wins.

Gannon is ranked 11th in the latest NABC Division II Top 25 and is now 12th in the D2CSC Top 25 Media Poll. The Golden Knights debuted in the NABC poll a week ago in 18th place. They were 18th in the D2CSC poll two weeks before moving up a spot to 17th last week. The 11th place ranking in the NABC poll is the highest since Gannon finished fifth in the final 2008-09 poll.

Defending national champion Nova Southeastern (15-0) holds down the top spot in the NABC Top 25 while MSU Moorhead (12-0) is second. Minnesota State (13-0) is ranked third with West Texas A&M (10-1) fourth and Central Oklahoma (11-1) holding down the fifth spot.

The top three teams are the same in the D2CSC poll, with Saint Martin's (11-) fourth and North Georgia (8-1) fifth. California (Pa.) is sixth.

Fee took over a program that won three games a year ago and has led it to the best start since the 2001-02 team won its first 14 games. He has also set the record for most consecutive wins to start a coaching tenure. Gannon has also broken the school record for 100 points game in a season. The Golden Knights have scored 100-or-more points in eight of ten games and lead Division II in scoring at 116.0 ppg.

Gannon is off for the holiday break after posting a pair of wins in PSAC crossover games over Kutztown and West Chester on Monday and Tuesday. The Golden Knights will return to the hardcourt on Saturday, December 30 at Millersville.
