Fee Announces First Recruit for Class of 2024

Quinn Barnett to join Golden Knights from Brunswick (Ohio) High School

ERIE, Pa. – The Jordan Fee Era began with a bang as Gannon upset Glenville State and Charleston (WV) this past weekend in the Atlantic Region Challenge. But at the same time the first-year coach is already looking ahead to next year, announcing the first addition to the Class of 2024. Quinn Barnett from Brunswick (Ohio) High School is the newest Golden Knight, recently signing a national letter of intent.

"The state of Ohio and in particular, Northeast Ohio, continues to be a priority for us in recruiting," related Fee. "I believe Quinn Barnett was one of the state's better kept secrets, and we're so excited to welcome him to Gannon. Quinn is a versatile combo guard that can do a little bit of everything. He's played for a great high school coach and team in Joe Mackey of Brunswick High School and knows what it takes to win.

"Quinn can really shoot the basketball, possesses an offensive creativity, and I look forward to watching his instincts on the defensive side of the ball within our pressure.  Quinn is a guy that wants to play within The System, and I think it's a great fit for both. Like the others, Quinn comes from a great family and has the right mentality to be a really good player here at Gannon. We're thrilled to add Quinn to our Gannon Basketball family."

Barnett is a 6-foot-2 guard who earned first team All-Greater Cleveland Conference honors as a junior, averaging 15.7 ppg., 4.1 rpg. and 3.6 assists per game. He helped the Blue Devils to a 17-7 record, advancing to the district finals before losing to Cleveland Heights. Brunswick was 19-8 during Barnett's sophomore campaign, once again reaching the district final.

"Quinn is such an explosive player who can impact the game in a variety of ways," commented Brunswick High School head coach Joe Mackey. "He can play both guard spots and is one of best kids I have ever coached. Gannon is getting one of the best guards Ohio has to offer. When he visited Gannon, he raved about the coaches, players, and campus. I think Gannon is the perfect fit!"

Barnett is looking forward to becoming part of the revival of Gannon basketball.

"Coach Fee and his staff have something to prove, and I want to help them do that," Barnett said. "I was drawn to their passion, not only for the game, but for their players. The culture here at Gannon, along with the relationships I feel I can build, made this a pretty easy decision for me. I also heard the atmosphere in the arena can be electrifying and the community fully supports the program. I'm excited to be a part of that."
