Farnsworth Earns Spot on D2CCA All-Super Region 1 Team

FINDLAY, Ohio -- The D2CCA All-Region Teams were announced on Thursday, with Gannon's Chris Farnsworth (Bristol, Pa./Milton Hershey) landing on the D2CCA All-Super Region 1 Team. Farnsworth was named to the second team at defensive back. He was previously named to the All-PSAC West first team after earning second team accolades the year before.

Gannon recently completed the 2022 campaign with an 8-3 record, one win shy of the school- record of nine wins. The Golden Knights finished at 6-1 in the PSAC West, tying Indiana (Pa.) and Slippery Rock for the Western Division title.

Farnsworth played a huge role in the team's success, leading a revamped defense that ranked among the best in the PSAC after being among the worst just a year earlier. The 5'11", 189 lb. redshirt junior led the team in tackles with 91, including 53 solo, from his rover position in the 3-3 alignment. He had 2.5 TFL while leading the team in interceptions with four and passes broken up with seven. He is second in the PSAC in interceptions. He was twice named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week, following wins over Charleston (WV) and Edinboro.

The D2CCA Super Region 1 Teams are comprised of players from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, Mountain East Conference, Great Midwest Athletic Conference, and Northeast-10.
