Lana Perez (Honolulu, Hawaii/Moanalua) and graduate student
Stephanie Floor (Pago Pago, American Samoa/Leone) both earned podium spots at Sunday's Adrian Open, with Perez claiming fourth place at 130 pounds and Floor earning seventh in the 143-pound bracket. The short-handed Gannon University women's wrestling team, dealing with multiple injuries but still tied for rank No. 11 in the NCAA NWCA Division II Preseason Team Rankings, entered eight wrestlers into a packed field of 21 competing institutions. The Golden Knights finished 11
th in the team standings with a total of 46.5 points, just one-and-a-half behind 10
th place Elmira. North Central College (422.5 points) were the team champions.

Perez, making her season debut, opened the day with a fall over Indiana Tech's Shelby Cope in just 56 seconds and advanced to the quarterfinals after an injury default by Albion's Madison Wilbur. Lana made quick work of her opponent yet again in the quarters with a fall over Bethany Regione of Aurora University in 52 seconds but would drop the semifinal match by fall in 4:23 to Sacred Heart's Alexandra Fitzgerald. Perez faced another Aurora wrestler in the third-place match but could not overcome Alexis Janiak, who won by technical fall.

Floor's journey in the 143-pound bracket began brightly, with a fall over Northern Michigan's Kristyleigh Massey in 4:56, but was followed by a loss in the quarterfinals by tech fall to Kendall Bostelman of North Central College. Floor ended her run in the seventh-place match with a quick 50-second fall over Wisconsin Stevens Point's Katlyn Grant.
A trio of Gannon freshman all ended the day with two victories, as well:
Zoe Gaetjens (Mogadore, Ohio/Mogadore) (123 pounds) and
Lili Ujfalvi (Kecskemet-heteny, Hungary/Bolyai Janos Secondary School)Â (155) both claimed a fall and a technical fall, while
Samira Stephens (Geismar, La./Dutchtown) dropped her opening bout but wrestled back with two consecutive falls in the consolation bracket.
