HOW IT HAPPENED

  • California then settled in adding on two runs in the third, one in the fourth and tow more in the fifth to increase its lead to 7-1. Hess once again tried to spark the Knights in the sixth inning sending a sacrifice fly into left field to allow Kieran Gagnon (Mono, Ontario/Westside) to score and cut the deficit to five, 7-2. Trey Zeroski (Clinton, Pa./West Allegheny) attempted to keep the momentum rolling to seventh after he sent a single through the left side, but the Vulcans went on to get the next two outs to seal the 7-2 victory.
