  • The Short Story: Deven Judy (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area) tossed a team-high four strikeouts over 5.0 innings as fourth-seeded Gannon fell short against top-seeded Seton Hill, 6-0, in the first round of the PSAC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kieran Gagnon (Mono, Ontario/Westside) helped keep the contest scoreless into the bottom half of the third inning after he tracked down a hit off the bat of Brandon Kline at the centerfield wall. The Griffins then broke the deadlock in the following at bat as Owen Sabol connected on an RBI triple down the right field line to make the score 1-0.
  • Seton Hill stole the momentum in the fourth frame after Isaiah DiAndreth was able to send a home run down the left field line and push the advantage to 2-0. Following a scoreless fifth inning, the Griffins put the contest out of reach adding on four more runs capped off by a Jack Oberdorf home run to seal the 6-0 win.  
GAME NOTES
  • Gannon made its fourth appearance in the PSAC Tournament under head coach Greg Coleman and sixth overall appearance in program history.
  • Ian Hess (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillian) and Trey Zeroski (Clinton, Pa./West Allegheny) each registered a hit for the Knights. Hess closed the season on a team-best eight game hit streak, which is the longest streak of his career.
  • Judy (3-6) made his 10th start of the season with a team-best four strikeouts over 5.0 innings of action. 
  • Tre Thomas (Ambridge, Pa. /Ambridge Area) closed out the final 2.1 innings on the mound with three strikeouts. He limited the Griffins to one hit and did not allow run.
