KEY SEQUENCE
  • Gannon matched Seton Hill's first score of the second half to keep it a four-goal game at 8-4, but the hosts responded with a stretch of six straight goals over a six-minute period to build up just enough of a lead to secure the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon immediately answered Seton Hill's opening score of the game, with McKenna Woodworth (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) keeping her hot streak going to tie it just under three minutes in. The Griffins pushed that to a 4-1 lead over the next 10 minutes, but Macy Hepditch's (Waterloo, Ontario/Resurrection Catholic) free-position score pulled the Golden Knights closer.
  • Another Woodworth goal on a man-up chance made it 6-3, and Emma Uhrig's (Waterloo, Ontario/Kitchener Waterloo Collegiate) goal off a feed from Woodworth four minutes into the second half kept Gannon in it at 8-4. Seton Hill began pulling away with its second-half run, but Lauren Squires (Big Flats, N.Y./Horseheads) and Uhrig hooked up to stop the run with 12:16 on the clock, as Squires put one home.
  • Skyler Parsons (Reading, Pa./Exeter Twp.) capped the scoring late in the half, netting an unassisted tally with eight seconds remaining.

GAME NOTES
  • Woodworth now has nine goals over her past three games, and leads the Golden Knights with 10 on the season.
  • Erin Renwick (Islip, N.Y./Islip) posted 18 saves in goal for the Knights — one off a career high of 19 set in 2019 against Slippery Rock — and led the team with three caused turnovers while picking up two ground balls.
  • Squires' second-half goal was the first of her career for the freshman, and came on her lone shot of the day.
  • Uhrig picked up her first points of her career with her goal and assist, also adding a ground ball.
