  • Edinboro would add an insurance run advancing their lead in the sixth before shutting the Golden Knight's down with a 1-2-3 frame to preserve the shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Golden Knights found their rhythm in game two of Wednesday's doubleheader taking a 2-0 lead in the first.  Megan Dietrick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) led off the game with her fifth-career homerun as the junior sent one deep and over the right field fence.  Kristina DeMatties added to the board as she tripled into right center to drive in Kaity Stocker (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) from first.
  • In the fourth, Deitrick singled to bring another run across the plate before Maria Taliana took charge of the game with back-to-back home runs.  The senior led off the fifth with a shot deep into left before The Scots ended the shutout with an RBI single but was immediately responded with another solo homer from the Cheswick product to make it 5-1.
  • Edinboro would add one run in the final inning but a fly ball to center would end the threat.

GAME NOTES
  • Each team registered eight hits with the Golden Knights led by Dietrick and Taliani each with two and two RBI.
  • Taliani's performance marks the second time in her career where she recorded two home runs in the same game.
  • Rebecca Tatone (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) (7-1) was rewarded the victory on the mound as the left-handed pitcher allowed two runs with five strikeouts through seven complete.
