HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a 1-2-3 inning, Kaity Stocker (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) set the tone for game one as the senior opened scoring in the second with her eighth homer of the season to put the Knights on top, 1-0.
  • The Golden Knights added insurance runs to the board with a two-run RBI double by Jules Ryan (Collegeville, Pa./Spring Ford) after Nicole Bush (Painesville, Ohio/Lake Catholic) and Stocker each singled to add to Gannon's hit count.
  • Three additional runs would cross the plate for Gannon as Nicole Bush (Painesville, Ohio/Lake Catholic) singled before moving to second after Stocker walked.  A two-out double for Kristina DeMatteis (Boyers, Pa./Moniteau) would bring home Bush before Lyndsey Lakatos (Allison Park, Pa./Shaler Area) recorded her first hit of the game with a two-RBI single to take a 6-0 win.

  • Kennedy DeMatteis (Boyers, Pa./Moniteau) (8-6) registered her 12th complete game of the season and sixth career shutout as she allowed just two hits with two strikeouts.
