Women's Wrestling Crowns 3 All-Americans, Finishes 10th In Nation

The Short Story: Three individuals earned All-America honors for the Gannon women's wrestling team as it capped its season at the NCWWC tournament Saturday.

EVENT NOTES

Gannon ran its string of having multiple All-Americans at national tournaments to three with the trio of Golden Knights who placed in the top eight Saturday, including five total All-Americans in two years of competition at the NCWWC.
The Golden Knights set a new best with a 10th-place team finish, collecting 34 points to finish just behind ninth-place Adrian.
Gannon ran six of its seven participants into the round of 12, just one win away from All-America status. The three All-Americans — Blarr, Perez and Devericks — got through that in exciting fashion. All three won that round by fall, with Blarr and Perez coming back from early deficits and getting through injury time to do so.
Blarr's round of 12 bout came against Tiffin's Trinity Berry, who entered ranked No. 7. That came after a first-round consolation against No. 8 Stephanie Mondragon, also of Tiffin, to give Blarr two wins over top-eight opponents.
It was the second career All-America honor for Devericks, who finished sixth at the WCWA National Tournament at 170 pounds last season.

UP NEXT

Gannon doesn't not have any more events still on its schedule for 2020-21, and will look forward to the start of the 2021-22 season this fall.
