HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gannon began the first set building a four-point edge, 10-6, after Laura Bebinger (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) blasted a kill past the Golden Eagle defense. Clarion batted its way back stealing its first lead of the day to make the score 11-10. The two then settled in exchanged points to find themselves deadlocked 20-20. The Golden Knights then closed the frame on a 5-1 run to win the frame, 25-21, after kill from Ashley McClung (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington).
- Gannon started fast the second stanza running out to a 15-7 edge after Lauren Sampson (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) posted a kill. The Knights kept their foot on the gas from there doubling up the Golden Eagles, 20-10, after another kill from Sampson. Gannon won the second set, 25-14.
- Gannon stayed hot into the third frame building a 13-5 edge following a block from Maggie Greenfield (Woodstock, Ontario/Woodstock Collegiate Institute) and Kaeli Kristensen (Calgary, Alberta/Dr. E.P. Scarlett). The Knights then began to put the match away increasing their lead to 22-12 after Madde Blake (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central) notched a kill. Gannon won the third set, 25-13, and the match, 3-0.
GAME NOTES
- As a team, Gannnon posted 46 digs, 33 kills and 32 assists.
- Sampson paced the Knights with seven kills and five digs.
- Kenzie Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Armstrong) led the way on the defensive end with a game-high 16 digs.
- Kaeli Kristensen (Calgary, Alberta/Dr. E.P. Scarlett) passed out a game-best 20 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams traded points to open the second match until Gannon rattled off four straight points highlighted by a kills from Sampson and McClung to make the score 12-6. Gannon was able to hold off Clarion the rest of the way and closed the frame with five unanswered points to take set one, 25-15.
- Clarion battled back in the second frame doubling up Gannon, 8-4. The Knights responded coming all the way back steal the lead, 10-9, after a Sampson service ace. Gannon then assembled a 5-1 run to build a 14-10 edge after a kill from Maggie Greenfield (Woodstock, Ontario/Woodstock Collegiate Institute). Gannon went on to win the set, 25-20.
- Both teams fought in the third set as each adjusted lineups to lock the contest, 17-17. Gannon was able to steal a 22-20 edge after Kristin Schorr (Evansville, Ind./North Posey) connected on a service ace. The Knights held on to steal the set, 25-22, and the match, 3-0.
GAME NOTES
- The series marked the Knights' first home contest since Nov. 22, 2019.
- As a team, Gannon tallied 49 digs, 33 kills and 32 assists.
- Sampson paced the Knights with a team-high seven kills with five digs.
- Kristensen just missed a double-double with 12 assists and team-high nine digs.
- Valeria Torres (Gurabo, Puerto Rico/Notre Dame) handed out a team-high 15 assists with four digs.
