KEY SEQUENCE
  • A fast start from Lock Haven put the hosts in front, but Rachel Tufts (Erie, Pa./McDowell) got the Golden Knights on the board just over eight minutes in. The Bald Eagles responded with four more scores over the next five minutes though to swing the momentum back.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lock Haven got on the board on the opening possession, then managed to string some goals together, scoring five goals in the first seven minutes. Tufts converted a free position to get Gannon back in it, but the Bald Eagles got on another run to make it 9-1 with 16 minutes to go in the opening half.
  • Gannon started putting some more pressure on the hosts after that, forcing three turnovers leading to Macy Hepditch's (Waterloo, Ontario/Resurrection Catholic) free position score with 12:08 on the clock. Erin Renwick (Islip, N.Y./Islip) stuffed a Lock Haven shot near the end of the period, and McKenna Woodworth (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) converted on the other end inside of a minute to go before the half for the Knights' third goal.
  • Woodworth kept the scoring coming in the second half, converting off a feed from Sklyer Parsons 10 minutes into the second half, and adding two more goals throughout the half.

GAME NOTES
  • Woodworth put up a season-high four goals for the Golden Knights. Her four scores were the most for a freshman since Tufts also netted four at Lock Haven on March 23, 2019.
  • Woodworth also added three draw controls and a ground ball.
  • Tufts pushed her streak of games with a goal to 12 with her first-half score. That run dates back to her freshman year in 2019. She also put up team highs with three draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
  • Emma Uhrig (Waterloo, Ontario/Kitchener Waterloo Collegiate) also added two ground balls and pair of caused turnovers.
