  • The Short Story: Chris Clancy (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys), Frank Webb Jr. (Baltimore, Md./Our Lady of Mount Carmel) and DeAnte Cisero (Chicago, Ill./Montgomery County (Ky.)) each netted a game-high 14 points to help Gannon roll past Edinboro on the road, 74-47. With the win, Gannon clinches a spot in the PSAC Tournament.
GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Both teams traded buckets until Gannon snatched an 11-9 edge after Michael Tertsea (Benue State, Nigeria/John Carroll) drained a layup. The Knights continued to push connecting on three straight possessions to stretch their lead to eight, 23-15, following another Tertsea layup with 9:19 on the clock. Edinboro responded to chip the Gannon edge down to one, 28-27, after a Trey Staunch basket at the 4:52 mark.
  • Webb slowed the Fighting Scots' run navigating the lane for a layup, 30-27, with 3:14 to play in the half. Gannon went on to close the first half building an eight point, 38-30, edge at the break. Tertsea led the Knights with a game-high 11 points.
  • The Knights opened the second half expanding their lead up to 12, 46-34, following a pair of free throws from Victor Olawoye (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont Memorial) with 13:39 remaining. The Fighting Scots retaliated with six straight points to make the score 46-40 at the 11:12 mark. The Knights answered back stretching their lead back up to double digits, 52-42, following a layup from Webb.
  • Gannon began to put the contest on ice when Matt Johnson (Chicago, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) got creative finding Webb for the dunk in transition, 58-44, with 7:21 to play. The Knights continued to roll on offense after Clancy connected on back-to-back possessions from three to increase the edge to 66-44 with 3:59 remaining. Gannon went on to close out the remaining time to earn the win, 74-47.
GAME NOTES
  • Gannon extends its win streak to four games.
  • The Knights shot 43.3 percent (26-60) from the field and 69.6 percent (16-23) from the free throw line.
  • Gannon collected a season-high 50 rebounds, including 36 on the defensive end of the floor.
  • The Knights registered 36 points in the paint.
  • The Gannon bench contributed 36 points.
  • The Knights improve to 5-2 when four players reach double figures in scoring.
  • Clancy netted 14 points with one assist and one rebound. He shot 4-of-8 from three. It marked his eighth game this season connecting on at least four thee pointers.
  • Cisero also contributed 14 points with four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal. It marked his team-leading 14th time hitting double figures in scoring this season.
