The Short Story:Â The Knights used a 20-10 second quarter to pull away from the Griffins after an even first 10 minutes.
Chelsea Rourke (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) hit three three-pointers in the third quarter to help Gannon to a double-figure lead. Seton Hill fell short despite a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter. Gannon held on to win 87-70 for their sixth straight.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams came ready to battle Wednesday night making for a tight first quarter. The Griffins used an early 7-3 run to jump ahead of the Knights. Cheyenne Trest opened the game with a layup and connected on a three pointer on their next possession. Gannon caught back up and took their first lead of the game with a three-pointer from Haley Tewes (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Kettering) at the 6:40 mark. SHU took the lead back with four straight points from Katie Nolan and Lexi Civittolo. The quarter saw two more lead changes, but Trest would knock down another three-pointer to take a 19-18 lead for the Griffins into the second.
- Gannon outscored SHU 20-10 in the second quarter to take control of the game. Chelsea Rourke (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) sparked a 14-4 run with a three at the 8:23 mark. Tori Obenrader (Fryburg, Pa./North Clarion) scored the next five points for Gannon before Samantha Kosmacki broke the scoreless streak for SHU. Rourke, Tewes, and Sydney Mitchell (Baltimore, Md./Seton Keough) scored on layups to complete the run for Gannon. The Knights used six more unanswered points to close the half and lead the Griffins 38-29 at the break.
- Rourke came alive in the third quarter for the Knights helping extend their lead to double-digits. She hit three straight three-pointers for Gannon following the media timeout. The Knights closed the last five minutes on a 15-8 run. Eleven of those points were Rourke's, while Obenrader scored the other four in the paint. Gannon took a 65-49 lead into the final 10 minutes.
- Gannon kept the momentum flowing to start the fourth. Pirosko and Tewes scored four straight points to take a twenty-point lead. Tewes, Rourke, and Margo Loutzenhiser (Russell, Pa./Warren Area) connected on the arc on three straight Gannon possessions to force a SHU timeout. The Griffins came out of the timeout scoring 10 unanswered points in an attempt to chip away at the double-figure lead. A three-point play from Pirosko snapped the SHU run leading Gannon to an 87-70 win.

GAME NOTES
- Another game, another career-high for Tewes. She scored a game-high 22 points surpassing her 16-point career-high she set the other night at Pitt-Johnstown. Tewes was 9-of-11 from the field, 2-for-2 from the arc and the foul line. She tallied on rebounds, an assist, and four steals in 28 minutes.
- Rourke added 21 points falling just shy of her career-high 25 points. She was 8-of-11 from the field and knocked down five three pointers. Rourke finished with three rebounds, one assist, one block, and two steals.
- Wednesday's game marks the first time this season that two players scored 20+ points in a game this season.
- Obenrader scored 14 for the Knights. This is her fifth consecutive game scoring at least 10 points and the second time this season she has gone on a five-game double-figure scoring streak. Obenrader grabbed a team-high six boards and tallied two assists, two steals, and one block.
- Pirosko continues her impact off the bench with her third straight game in double-figures. She tied her career-high 13 points and helped Gannon's bench outscore Seton Hill's bench 22-19.
- Mitchell did a little bit of everything tonight scoring six points. She tallied a game-high seven assists, while recording six boards and two steals.
- The Knights improve to 6-0 on their home court and will be tested Saturday hosting the No. 8 team in the country.
- They continue to improve their records in several situations. Gannon is now 9-0 when at least four players score double-figures. The Knights are 8-0 when their bench outscores the opponent's bench. They are 5-0 when shooting at least 50 percent from the field.
