The Short Story: The Lady Knights fought hard in an overtime battle with conference opponent Indiana. The Crimson Hawks eventually came away with a 1-0 win after netting the game winner in the 95th minute. Megan McCartney (Chicora, Pa./Karns City), Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) and Kayla Bevacqua (Welland, Ontario/Notre Dame) each finished with three shots for Gannon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The game was knotted 0-0 at the end of regulation to force Gannon's first overtime game of the season.
  • Mahogany Willis would seal the win for IUP in the 95th minute. Mya Hilliard sent a long ball into Willis who scored on a breakaway to end the game with a 1-0 win for the Crimson Hawks.
 
GAME NOTES
  • McCartney led Gannon with three shots, all of which were on goal. Her three shots on goal would be a match-high.
  • Cekella and Bevacqua each finished with three shots firing off two on goal.
  • Maddie North (Leysdown-on-Sea, England/The Westlands School), Vanessa Coccurello (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Jean de Brebeuf), Aseling McCullough, Molly Whaley (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy), Kaitlyn Kneidinger (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep), and Abby Grychowski (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria) all took one shot on goal for Gannon in the match.
  • Kennedy Solymosi (Eastlake, Ohio/Lake Catholic) made six stops in goal for the Knights.
  • Madeline Smakuski tallied 13 saves in IUP's shutout.
  • Willis managed four shots in the match. Her only shot on goal would be the game winner handing the Lady Knights their third straight loss.
  • Hilliard, who assisted Willis, added another two shots on goal for IUP.
