KEY SEQUENCE

Lock Haven pitcher Bekah Slattery recorded 15 strikeouts and held the Gannon softball team to just three hits Thursday afternoon, as the Lady Knights lost 4-2 in the second round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lock Haven broke through in the third when Casey Carpenter scored a pair of runs on a hard-hit up the middle.
In the fourth, Rachel Tanilli (Gibsonia, Pa./Deer Lakes) tied it up for the Lady Knights with a two-run shot to left field.
Slattery put the Bald Eagles up in the bottom of the inning with a two-run homer of her own, her first of the year.

GAME NOTES

Tanilli led Gannon with two RBI and her eighth homer of the season.
Megan Dietrick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) had two doubles for the Lady Knights.
Gannon was held to just three hits, the second-least this year.
Slattery had 15 strikeouts, which ties her career high.
Madi Beining (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) took the loss after striking out two in her 4.2 innings of action.
Kennedy DeMatteis (Boyers, Pa./Moniteau) pitched 1.1 innings of relief and had one strikeout to get Gannon out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

Dietrick's pair of doubles brought her season total to eight.
Gannon's 15 strikeouts are the second-most this season. Gannon struck out 16 times in the season-opener to Missouri-St. Louis.
