HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kelly Fehr (Erie, Pa./Villia Maria) pushed Gannon ahead 2-0 early with a pair of goals in the opening quarter before McKendree tied the game with two goals of its own. Nicole Wiemken (Napoleon, Ohio /Napoleon) handed the lead back to the Lady Knights with a marker at 2:16 before Libby Tirak (Erie, Pa./Villia Maria) and Sydney Fountain (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) capped the first quarter scoring for Gannon.
  • The Lady Knights continued to apply the pressure, and pulled away in the second quarter by scoring four of the five goals in the frame. Fehr and Wiemken notched a pair of goals each while Isabelle Vieira (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) stood tall in goal behind a swarming defense that helped the Lady Knights take a 9-5 lead at the half.
  • Quality scoring chances were harder to come by in the second half, but Fehr and Tirak posted the first two goals to balloon the Gannon lead to 11-5 at the 3:23 mark in the third. The fourth quarter was more back and forth, with each time scoring three times in the final eight minutes. Campbell Ruh (Walnut, Calif./Lutheran High School of Orange County) and Naomi Peltier (Honolulu, Hawaii/Farrington) got on the board for the Lady Knights in the period.

GAME NOTES
  • Sunday's win was the second of the season for the Lady Knights over McKendree, previously grabbing a 16-9 triumph back on February 24 in the W&J Invitational.

  • Fehr led the Lady Knights with five goals. She is one of two players (Ruh) with at least 120 shot attempts this season.
  • The Lady Knights have scored in double figures each of the past three games, including Saturday's exhibition win over the PSU Club Team.
