HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon jumped out early, taking a 2-0 lead off goals from Julia Kredinger (Erie, Pa./Villia Maria) and Kelly Fehr (Erie, Pa./Villia Maria). VMI countered back to tie the score in the opening frame, but Gannon ballooned its lead to 4-2 with tallies from Campbell Ruh (Walnut, Calif./Lutheran High School of Orange County) and Sydney Fountain (Okemos, Mich./Okemos).

  • The Keydets opened the third quarter with consecutive goals, but Gannon would not go quietly, answering with a goal from Nicole Wiemken (Napoleon, Ohio /Napoleon).
