The Short Story: The Golden Knights fought for a big overtime win over rival Mercyhurst Wednesday night.
Sergio Del Castillo (Madrid, Spain) scored in the final minute of regulation to tie the match 2-2 and force overtime.
Ben Andrews (Saxonburg, Pa./Knoch) scored in the 91st minute to clinch Gannon's first regular season championship in the PSAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alex Lee Yaw (Jamestown, N.Y./Mercyhurst Prep) gave the Knights a 1-0 lead with 36 seconds left in the first half. He scored on a free kick for Gannon.
- Mario Castel fired back for the Lakers just 16 seconds later to tie the match 1-1 heading into the break.
- Henri Tophoven scored in the 53rd minute for Mercyhurst from the left side of the box. Vincenzo Esposito set a pass his way and Tophoven used one touch to send the ball high and right.
- With less than a minute left in regulation, Lee Yaw threw the ball into the box. Del Castillo connected and headed the ball high over the keeper to tie the match 2-2 and force overtime.
- The Knights didn't need long in the extra period. Ben Andrews (Saxonburg, Pa./Knoch) scored on an assist from Lee Yaw just 37 seconds into overtime to clinch the 3-2 win over the Lakers.

GAME NOTES
- Gannon clinched their first regular season title as a PSAC member with Andrews' goal. This is his third game winner of the season. Andrews now ranks fourth in the PSAC with three game winners.
- The Knights' win streak extends to nine games to match their longest win streak since the 2012 season.
- Lee Yaw has scored in four of his last five games played. He has also assisted in the past two matches including two in the win over the Lakers. He ranks second in the league with 12 goals on the year and ranks first in the league with 11 assists.
- Lee Yaw took a match-high seven shots with three on goal. He regains the lead in the PSAC with 69 shots on the season.
- Abdullah Say (Ruesselsheim, Germany/), Lennox Crews (Offenbach, Germany/Leibnizschule), and Del Castillo all took at least two shots in the match.
- Seven other players tallied one shot in the match as the Knights led the Lakers 21-9 in shots.
- Chandler Hallwood (Halifax, England/Woodhouse Grove) made two saves in goal, while Martin Jarc made four for the Lakers.
