  • The Short Story: Gannon used a fast start to blank Seton Hill, 3-0, on Senior Day and push its win streak to six matches.  
 GAME DAY MEDIA CENTER HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon capitalized on the home crowd early running out to an 11-4 edge after a kill from Lauren Sampson (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson). The Lady Knights didn't let off the gas pushing their lead up to 10, 20-10, following a kill from Ashley Beyers (Lanark, Ill./Eastland). Gannon went on to take the frame, 25-15.
  • Gannon continued to stay in an offensive rhythm in the second set opening up a 6-1 lead to force a Seton Hill timeout. The Knights then stretched their edge into double digits after back-to-back kills from Sampson to make the score 20-10. Gannon closed out the second set, 25-18.
  • The Knights began to pull away in the third frame creating a 17-9 lead after rattling off five straight points highlighted by two service aces and two kills from Sampson. Gannon then put the match out of reach after Toni Leishush served two straight service aces to make the score 21-10. Gannon went on to take the frame, 25-16.
GAME NOTES
  • Gannon recorded their sixth straight and 14th sweep of the season.
  • The Knights six straight sweeps is the longest streak since they strung together nine straight sweeps in the 2018 season.
  • Gannon has a 12-0 mark at home this season. The Knights last regular season home loss came on Oct. 28, 2017 against East Stroudsburg.
  • Gannon held the edge in kills (42-23), assists (39-23) and digs (51-42) The Knights also added eight service aces.
  • Ally Smith (Penfield, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 11 digs.
  • Beyers handed out a match-high 36 assists. She also added six digs and three kills.
  • Leitshuh tallied a match-best 15 digs on the defensive end.
  • Sampson registered 12 kills and nine digs.
  • Six Knights posted at least three kills in the match.
UP NEXT
  • Gannon returns to action on Wednesday hosting Daemen in a nonconference match. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
  • The match marks first time the two teams have met since the 2017 season when Gannon blanked Daemen, 3-0. The Knights lead the all-time series, 10-1.
