HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ivan Manfredi (Chiavari, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Marconi Delpino) scored first for the Knights just 20 minutes into the match. Alex Lee Yaw (Jamestown, N.Y./Mercyhurst Prep) threw the ball in for Gannon. Chad Barrick (Gahanna, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln) tipped it over to Manfredi on the left side who sent the shot in for the goal. Lee Yaw and Barrick tallied assists on the goal.
  • Lee Yaw added to his point total with back-to-back goals for Gannon. He netted the game winner in the 41st minute and scored after the halftime break in the 58th minute. Joe Knox (Gold Coast, Australia/The Southport School) would get the assist on the game winner, while the second goal was unassisted on a free kick from the top right of the box.
  • Abdullah Say (Ruesselsheim, Germany/) finished Gannon's scoring in the 67th minute on an assist from Sergio Del Castillo (Madrid, Spain).
  • The Griffins ruined the chance of a shutout in the 74th minute. Lloyd Davies put a goal on the board for SHU with a penalty kick.
