The Short Story: The Lady Knights dominated the offensive end of the field Saturday night firing off 23 shots and scoring three goals over conference for Clarion.
Sarah Fails (Girard, Pa./Villa Maria) scored the game winner in the 13th minute leading Gannon to its second shutout of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fails scored in the 13th minute of play to start spark the Gannon offense Saturday night. Aesling McCullough (Moon, Pa./Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) fired a pass down field from 40 yards out. Fails tracked down the ball taking it into the top of the box sending a shot into the back left of the net to score her first goal of the season.
- Maddie North (Leysdown-on-Sea, England/The Westlands School) would strike next for the Knights in the 62nd minute. She rebounded the ball off a defensive deflection taking it up the middle of the field into the upper left of the box. Her shot found the bottom right of the net to put Gannon up 2-0.
- North added her second goal of the night just over ten minutes later in the 73rd minute. North scored on an indirect kick from inside the box. Alex Dix with one touch to North who found the bottom right of the goal leading Gannon to a 3-0 win.

GAME NOTES
- The Knights dominated shots (23-9), shots on goal (8-5), and corner kicks (9-2) in their victory over the Golden Eagles.
- Gannon had five players record multiple shots in the win.
- Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) led all players with six shots, two of which were on goal.
- Sarah Fails (Girard, Pa./Villa Maria) (4), Kayla Bevacqua (Welland, Ontario/Notre Dame), Dix (2), and North (2) round out the rest of the Knights with multiple shots.
- Hannah Hays (Butler, Pa./Butler), Nicole Grimm (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell Area), Emma Manczka (Fairview, Pa./McDowell), McCullough, Caldaroni, and Brigid Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) each took one in the match for Gannon.
- Kennedy Solymosi (Eastlake, Ohio/Lake Catholic) played all 90 minutes in goal making four saves in net.
- Clarion recorded five saves in the match. Brigid Stermel played 49 minutes in goal and made three saves, while Brynn Markley played 41 minutes making one stop. Clarion's defense stepped up big making one team save.
- Meliah Roman and Alexis Moyer were they only players on Clarion with multiple shots. They each recorded two.
