The Short Story: The Lady Knights dropped a close one at home Wednesday afternoon. The Griffins scored just six minutes into the match and took a 2-0 lead just after halftime.
Alexa Dix (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) scored Gannon's only goal in the 73nd minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Griffins connected for a goal just six minutes into Wednesday's match. Amanda Banfield took the ball up the middle to beat a charging Gannon goalkeeper. Banfield beat her sending the ball into the bottom left of the net.
- Shamika Langevine put SHU up 2-0 after taking a wide open shot outside the top right corner of the box. Langevine's goal curved to find the bottom right of the net.
- Alexa Dix (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) scored her first goal of the season in the 72nd minute. The ball deflected off Vanessa Coccurello (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Jean de Brebeuf) inside the box. Dix chased it down and set it in to put the Knights on the board.
- The Knights would fire off three more shots in the half, but fell 2-1 to the Griffins.

- Coccurello finished the match leading all players with four shots. She also tallied an assist.
- Megan McCartney (Chicora, Pa./Karns City) added three shots, and Sarah Fails (Girard, Pa./Villa Maria) shot twice.
- Eight Gannon players recorded a shot on goal.
- Kennedy Solymosi (Eastlake, Ohio/Lake Catholic) played a complete game in goal.
- The Knights led the Griffins in shots (16-6) and shots on goal (8-2). The Griffins led the Knights 7-0 in saves.
- Grace Kenyon gets her first win in goal for SHU and made six stops.
