HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights went up 1-0 with five minute left in the first half. Manfredi scored in the 40th minute following a Gannon corner kick. Alex Lee Yaw (Jamestown, N.Y./Mercyhurst Prep) sent the ball into the box on the kick where Chad Barrick (Gahanna, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln) headed the ball to the right post. Manfredi used his torso to hit the ball in.
  • Alex Lee Yaw (Jamestown, N.Y./Mercyhurst Prep) scored just out of the break in the 50th minute. A Seton Hill defender misplayed the ball back to the goalkeeper and Lee Yaw slipped the shot just inside the right post to put Gannon up 2-0 with forty minutes left to play.
  • James Randall (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School) got on the board next for the Knights. Randall's shot came inside the goal box. It bounced off the right post and deflected in for the goal.
  • Ben Andrews (Saxonburg, Pa./Knoch) made it a 4-0 game in the 73rd minute. Sergio Del Castillo (Madrid, Spain) took a shot that was blocked that led to Andrews taking a shot for a goalkeeper save. SHU's goalkeeper put the ball down for a kick but Andrews charged and sent the ball in for the Knights' fourth goal.
  • Less than five minutes later, Layton Bingham (Gold Coast, Australia/The Southport School) put another goal on the board for Gannon in the 79th minute. The ball deflected back out to him and he sent a hard shot in off the goalkeeper's hands.
  • Joe Knox (Gold Coast, Australia/The Southport School) scored the final goal of the match leading the Knights to a 6-0 win. Castillo passed from the top of the box. Knox used two touches and scored from the right side.
