The Short Story: The Gannon men's soccer team scored a goal in each half and defeated Shippensburg, 2-0, on the road Friday afternoon. The win marked Gannon's third straight shutout victory as the Golden Knights remain perfect in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play at 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sophomore Cameron Alexander (Aberlady, Scotland/North Berwick) opened the match with a shot less than two minutes in.
Junior Chad Barrick (Gahanna, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln) started the scoring for Gannon with a goal at 2:05 in the first half.
The Golden Knights added to their lead in the second half with a goal from senior Ivan Manfredi (Chiavari, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Marconi Delpino) at 72:48. Manfredi took a pass from redshirt-junior Declan Bingham (Gold Coast, Australia/The Southport School) and found the back of the net to put Gannon up 2-0.
Junior goalkeeper Hedi Mehnaoui (Paris, France/Lycee Chevrollier) made eight saves for the Golden Knights to preserve the shutout.

GAME NOTES

Gannon has earned shutout wins in its last three matches.
Barrick and Manfredi found the net for the first time in 2018.
Declan Bingham (Gold Coast, Australia/The Southport School) recorded an assist on Gannon's second tally of the afternoon, his third of the 2018 season.
