HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon scored on two of its first three shots of the game. Sophomore Aesling McCullough (Moon, Pa./Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) buried the first attempt of the game off a feed from Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) in the fourth minute to get the scoring binge started.
  • The Lady Knights doubled their lead just over three minutes later, as Hannah Hays (Butler, Pa./Butler) ripped a shot from 30 yards out to quickly boost the advantage.
  • Gannon continued to hold the advantage in possession, but Shippensburg began chipping away, with Beth McGee cutting the score in half in the 11th minute. As a result of some more pressure from the Raiders, K.K. O'Donnell tied things up in the 27th, and Chloe Flemion buried a rebound in the 40th to give the hosts the lead.
  • Content to hold the lead, Shippensburg allowed plenty of shots to the Knights in the second half, but would not allow the equalizer.

GAME NOTES
  • Gannon dominated the shot chart, out-shooting Ship 27-12, including a 16-7 advantage in shots on goal and 8-1 on goal in the second half.
