  • The Short Story: Sophomore Sam Thornton (Rotherham, England/Wickersley School and Sports College) continued his stellar offensive play with two more goals as the Gannon men's soccer team picked up its second victory in as many matches with a 2-0 triumph over Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Thornton handed Gannon an early advantage with a penalty kick goal at the 7:10 mark.
  • Gannon continued applying the pressure in the first half with four shots over the next 15 minutes.
  • Already ahead 1-0, Thornton provided Gannon with even more breathing room with his second goal of the match at 64:20. He took a centering pass and provided just enough touch to score the goal. 
  • Hedi Mehnaoui (Paris, France/Lycee Chevrollier) made three saves in net and earned the shutout victory for Gannon.
