  • The Short Story: The Gannon women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to Pitt-Johnstown Wednesday afternoon at McConnell Family Stadium. Gannon falls to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Pitt-Johnstown struck in the 26th minute when Abby LaDuke dribbled in a shot to the far left post on a pass received from Kacey Sullinger. It was her second goal of the season. 
 
GAME NOTES
  • Kayla Bevacqua (Welland, Ontario/Notre Dame) led Gannon with 12 shots, with five on goal.
  • Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) recorded four shots, putting three on mark.
  • Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) and Molly Whaley (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) each put one shot on goal apiece.
  • Hannah Pufpaff (Buffalo, N.Y./Saint Mary's) made one save in goal.
  • Gannon held a commanding 30-5 lead in shots, including an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal.
  • Gannon also had a 7-1 lead in corner kicks.
