Quinnipiac's Late Surge Sends Bobcats to NCATA National Title Meet

ERIE, Pa. - The No. 3-seed Quinnipiac Bobcats advanced to the 2018 National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA)  National Championship after downing the No.2-seed Azusa Pacific Cougars, 275.450-274.105 on Friday night.

Azusa Pacific led through each of the first three events and took a halftime lead of 96.175-95.400. Quinnipiac followed by shaving .125 points off the APU lead in the toss event. The Bobcats outscored Azusa Pacific 28.800-28.675. Quinnipiac still trailed headed into the team event but the Bobcats accumulated two more points than Azusa Pacific to vault to the lead, winning, 275.450-274.105.

Quinnipiac advances to play the three-time defending National Champion, Baylor, on Saturday at 4 p.m. for the National Title.
