GANNON STORYLINES
  • The Golden Knights kick off the month of December with their first conference action of the season, heading east along Interstate 80 for games on back-to-back days against teams entering the weekend coming off a win.
  • Gannon suffered a second straight home defeat in a slugfest on Wednesday, falling to Bowie State by a 56-47 score. The Knights held their second straight opponent to less than 60 points, but the Bulldogs were the first opponent to crack 40-percent shooting from the field, hitting 43.8 (21-of-48).
  • Bowie State also became the first team this season to outrebound Gannon, edging the hosts by just four (31-27).
  • Senior Daryl Porter (Southfield, Mich./Walled Lake Western) led the offense against the Bulldogs, turning in a career-high 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting in a career-high 35 minutes. Junior DeAnte Cisero (Chicago, Ill./Montgomery County (Ky.)) also had a nice game, posting a career-high 11 points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds.
  • Freshman Eric Gonzalez (Sabadell, Spain/Bachillerato) and redshirt senior Daniel Sapp (Streetsboro, Ohio/Streetsboro) each made their season debut Wednesday as the Knights look to hone their rotation. Gonzalez netted four points, two rebounds and two assists.
  • Gannon is 36-22 overall in crossover games against the PSAC East since joining the league prior to the 2008-09 season.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
  • A pair of close wins bookend two losses this season for the Huskies, who got back to .500 with a win over Felician Wednesday.
  • Bloom has outrebounded every opponent other than Division I St. Francis this season, and has pulled in 50 boards twice.
  • Junior Ky Mauras has led the Huskies offensively, putting up at least 20 points and shooting better than 50 percent in the three games he's played.
  • In an odd flip, the two games BU shot best from 3-point range are their two losses. They were a combined 16.7-percent from deep in two wins.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
  • The Mountaineers saw a double-digit lead slip to one point with 1:18 to play Wednesday against Salem, but three different players went a combined 5-of-6 from the line down the stretch to seal their first win.
  • Mansfield is fourth in the PSAC, shooting 48.7 percent from the floor, and have hit at least 10 3-pointers in each of its past three games.
  • Only nine players have seen time on the court this season, but six of those are averaging at least 19 minutes and 7.8 points.
UP NEXT
  • The Golden Knights have no midweek contests before hosting Lock Haven on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Hammermill Center.
