GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER
HEAD COACH MATT DARLING RAPID REACTION:
  • "Road wins in this league are hard-won, and tonight was no exception. Lock Haven played better than we did for two sets, and we were lucky to be level after two. From there, we played better and got some big performances from Lauren (Sampson), Lexi (Johnson), and Ashley McClung (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington). Really, though, everyone was better in the last two sets."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sampson carried the Lady Knights with 19 kills and 14 digs for her eight double-double of the season. She added four aces and racked up 23.5 total points for the Lady Knights.
  • Lock Haven came out firing on all cylinders, earning a win in the first set by a score of 25-15.
  • Gannon clawed back and notched a narrow 25-23 win in the second set to tie the match.
  • The Lady Knights returned to form and closed the night with convincing 25-11 and 25-13 set victories for the 3-1 win.
  • McClung finished with nine kills and four digs.
  • Laura Bebinger (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) finished third on the team with six kills while Lexi Johnson (Chandler, Ariz./Basha) put down five kills of her own in addition to a pair of block assists. The six kills are the third most in a match this season for Bebinger.

GAME NOTES
  • Ashley Beyers (Lanark, Ill./Eastland) passed out 29 assists and Toni Leitshuh (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) had 25 digs with four aces. Ashley Kerestes (Loves Park, Ill./Rockford Lutheran) also added four aces for the Lady Knights.
  • The Lady Knights 13-match winning streak is the longest of the season.
  • Gannon earned a crucial second set victory to avoid going down 2-0 in the match. Instead, the Lady Knights tied the match at 1-1 and went on to win the final two sets with ease.
  • The Lady Knights hit above .200 as a team in the final two sets while holding the Bald Eagles to a negative hitting percentage in that span.
  • Gannon has lost just 11 sets in 25 matches this season.
  • Sampson just recently set a career-high with 16 kills against Shippensburg on October 20, but surpassed that effort with 19 kills against LHU.

  • Lock Haven has struggled as a team, losing its sixth match in a row following the defeat against Gannon.
