SATURDAY STORYLINES
  • Mercyhurst is the most-played opponent for Gannon. The crosstown rivals have met 21 times in the 31-year history of the Golden Knight program.
  • With the addition of last week's opponent Indiana to the list, the eight teams Gannon has faced so far in the 2018 season have a combined record of 33-20. Three of those squads are nationally-ranked in No. 12 West Chester, No. 15 Kutztown and No. 22 IUP.
  • Despite its 2-6 record, Mercyhurst has a pair of impressive wins this season over Bloomsburg (14-10 on Sept. 15) and Edinboro (24-6 on Oct. 6), both teams that are at or over .500 and sitting in the top half of their division standings.
  • The Lakers have struggled on the road though, losing all four games as the visitor this season and six out of their last seven overall dating back to last year. That includes a one-point loss at Seton Hill and a five-point loss to Hillsdale, but also losses to IUP and Slippery Rock by a combined 47 points.

  • The Golden Knights will be looking to even the all-time series against the Rock, which holds a 7-6 lead in the series.
  • Slippery Rock owns a current four-game winning streak against Gannon, dating back to a 38-27 Gannon win early in the 2013 season.
  • SRU hosts California Saturday to begin a three-game homestand to close the regular season.
