HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After four lead changes during the opening six minutes, Gannon produced eight consecutive points to convert a three-point deficit into a 13-8 advantage with 13:55 left in the first half. Junior Evan Phoenix (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) scored four of the eight points.
  • The Golden Knights held a lead between one and five points for the majority of the final 14 minutes until the home team generated its first run.
  • Trailing 30-27, Seton Hill took a 31-30 lead with a lay-up and jumper by Nathan Davis.
  • It was the first of four lead changes during the final three minutes and 25 seconds.
  • Seton Hill held a 34-32 advantage, but freshman Cyril Ogbuagu (Lagos, Nigeria/Riverdale Baptist (Md.)) tied the game on a lay-up followed by a three-pointer by Jackson that sent the Golden Knights into the break with a 37-34 lead.
  • Gannon slowly extended its lead during the opening seven minutes of the second half, grabbing a double-digit advantage at 53-43 on Jackson's three-pointer at the 13:51 mark.
  • A 7-0 Seton Hill run moments later brought the home squad within 55-52.
  • Gannon appeared to regain control with back-to-back fast break lay-ups by senior Jair Green (Williamstown, N.J./Paul VI) and redshirt sophomore Frank Webb Jr. (Baltimore, Md./Our Lady of Mount Carmel)
  • The Golden Knights still maintained a 68-64 edge, before the Griffins scored 10 of the game's last 12 points during the final four minutes.
  • Seton Hill switched a four-point deficit into a 70-68 lead with consecutive triples.
  • A Jackson bank-shot brought Gannon even with 56 seconds remaining, but Davis' lay-up 11 seconds later gave the Griffins the lead back.
  • The Golden Knights followed with three consecutive missed shots, before a pair of free throws by Casson Spencer with six seconds left iced the victory.
