  • The Short Story: Sophomore Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) headed in redshirt senior Sarah Kaiser (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep)'s free kick with 3:11 remaining in the game to propel the Gannon women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Neither team could find the back of the net during the first 45 minutes of action.
  • The Lady Knights outshot The Rock 11-5 in the first half.
  • Gannon once again outshot Slippery Rock in the second half, 7-5, until Cekella played in Kaiser's kick in the 87th minute.
  • Neither team recorded a shot during the remainder of the game.

GAME NOTES
  • Gannon held an 18-10 shot advantage, while Slippery Rock posted a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.
  • The Lady Knights recorded more fouls than The Rock, 15-12.
  • Senior goalkeeper Danitza Indacochea (Vaughan, Ontario/St. Joan of Arc) made four saves for her fifth win of the season.
  • Slippery Rock goalie Kylie Downs registered 10 saves in the loss.
