Gannon Men's Soccer Stays Perfect in PSAC with 3-0 Victory Over Bloomsburg

  • The Short Story – The Gannon Men's Soccer team moved to 2-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Bloomsburg at McConnell Family Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Mathias Krigbaum (Greve, Denmark/Greve Gymnasium) was battling in the box 15 minutes into the match when he was taken down, earning a penalty kick. Krigbaum converted on the kick, placing it in the left corner of the net. Gannon took a 1-0 lead.
  • Freshman Alex Lee Yaw (Jamestown, N.Y./Mercyhurst Prep) cashed in on his first goal of the season in the 24th minute. He took a Bloomsburg turnover and shot it from 30 yards out.
  • Gannon took a 2-0 lead to halftime.
  • Krigbaum added his second goal of the match and fourth of the season in the 62nd minute. He netted the goal and finished with a slam dunk team celebration.
  • Gannon closed out the match for a 3-0 victory.
     
GAME NOTES
  • Gannon outshot the Huskies, 26-8.
  • Fouls were even at six apiece for Gannon and Bloomsburg.
  • The Golden Knights moved to 2-0 in the conference for the first time since 2012.
  • Gannon moves to 13-3-1 against Bloomsburg.
  • Jorge Hernandez (Atvidaberg, Sweden/Bildningscentrum Facetten) picked up the victory in goal for Gannon. It was The Golden Knights' first shutout of the season.
