Gannon Competitive Cheer Program Earns Two "Best Of" Awards at Champion Cheer Central Red Hot Competition

CLARION, Pa. - The Gannon competitive cheer program had another successful outing Sunday afternoon at the Champion Cheer Central Red Hot Competition in Clarion, Pennsylvania. The co-ed team was awarded the best stunts of all teams in its session while the all-girl squad received the best jumps award for all teams in its session.

Both teams competed uncontested, but were scored as part of the session. The co-ed team received a final score of 87.4 points. The Golden Knights earned 35.5 out of 40 points in building score, 27.7 out of 30 points in tumbling and 23.7 out of 25 points in overall. The squad was docked only 1.5 points in deductions.

The all-girl team finished with an 82.4 final score. The Lady Knights' performance included 35.5 out of 40 points for building score, 25 out of 30 for tumbling and 23.4 out of 25 points for overall. The all-girl squad also had only 1.5 points in deductions.

Both Gannon competitive cheer teams return to action Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26 at the COA Midwest Championship in Columbus, Ohio.
