  • The Short Story: The No. 22 Gannon women's soccer team battled East Stroudsburg to a 1-1 double-overtime tie Sunday afternoon at McConnell Family Stadium. Sophomore Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) recorded her ninth goal of the season in the draw.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • East Stroudsburg held a 5-4 advantage in shots in the first half, but neither team was able to put any points on the scoreboard in the first 45 minutes.
  • Just 2:37 into the second half, Monica Wood put the Warriors up 1-0 with her fourth goal of the year.
  • In the 68th minute, Gannon tied things up when freshman Kayla Bevacqua (Welland, Ontario/Notre Dame) sent the ball into the box on a free kick following a foul. Sophomore Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) headed Bevacqua's ball to Lewis, who found the back of the net.
  • Gannon turned things on in the second half and out-shot East Stroudsburg, 17-6.
  • The Lady Knights also out-shot the Warriors in the two overtime periods, 5-2, but neither team could score the game-winner. 

GAME NOTES
  • Gannon finished the game with advantages in shots (26-13) and corner kicks (12-3). Gannon also committed more fouls than East Stroudsburg, 10-9.
  • Senior goalie Danitza Indacochea (Vaughan, Ontario/St. Joan of Arc) made five saves in goal in the tie.
  • ESU goalkeeper Jules Harris recorded eight saves for her team.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • Gannon is ranked No. 22 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll and No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches Atlantic regional rankings. It is the highest ranking for the team since the 2016 squad was tabbed 21st in the preseason national poll.
  • East Stroudsburg was listed among other receiving votes in the Top 25 poll.
  • Gannon stretched its unbeaten streak to eight games. The Lady Knights have not lost a game since September 9 against Kutztown. 
  • With six games remaining in the regular season, Gannon has a 7-1-2 record and 23 points in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings. Kutztown sits atop the standings with 27 points and a perfect 9-0 conference record. East Stroudsburg has 25 points with an 8-2-1 PSAC record, while West Chester has 24 points and an 8-2 conference record. 
  • With her 20th career goal, Lewis moves into a tie with Justine Rodrigues (2011-14) and Julie Piazza (1997-2000) for eighth all-time at Gannon.
  • Indacochea is currently eighth all-time at Gannon with her 11 career wins.  
  • Senior Hannah Manczka (Fairview, Pa./McDowell) played in her 65th career game Sunday, the 20th-most in Gannon history.
