  • The Short Story: West Chester scored an early goal and held on to hand the Gannon women's soccer team its second loss of the season and first loss in over one month. Gannon saw its eight-game unbeaten streak snapped with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kaitlyn McFadden put the Golden Rams on the scoreboard in the fifth minute with her first goal of the season when she scored off a teammate's deflection.
  • Nicole Felice (Cleveland, Ohio/Laurel School) and Jocelyn Caldaroni (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul Catholic) notched two shots after the Golden Rams' goal in the first half.
  • West Chester headed into halftime with a 6-3 advantage in shots.
  • Coming back from the break, West Chester outshot the Lady Knights 7-3.
  • Felice and Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) put one shot on goal apiece, but it was not enough for the visitors as they suffered their first loss in the last month of action. 

GAME NOTES
  • West Chester outshot Gannon, 13-6, in the game, while the team also enjoyed a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks
  • The Golden Rams committed more fouls than the Lady Knights, 10-6. 
  • Danitza Indacochea (Vaughan, Ontario/St. Joan of Arc) made five saves in goal, while McKenna Mullin made three saves for her team. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • Gannon is ranked No. 20 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll.
  • Gannon lost its first game since September 9th and snapped its eight-game unbeaten streak.
  • West Chester is on a four-game winning streak after last losing to No. 2 Kutztown, 2-0 on September 27.
