  • The Short Story – Gannon Men's Soccer wrapped up its senior day with a 1-0 victory over the visiting Lock Haven Bald Eagles on Saturday, Oct. 21, at McConnell Family Stadium. Luis Driemel (Berlin, Germany/Leibniz-Schule) notched the Gannon goal in the 69th minute.
 
GAMEDAY CENTRAL
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon's Mathias Krigbaum (Greve, Denmark/Greve Gymnasium) registered the Golden Knights' first shot in the seventh minute of action.
  • Gannon managed four shots in the first half but couldn't find net. The Bald Eagles got off seven shots on the opposite end of the field, none finding their target.
  • Gannon and Lock Haven went to halftime with no score.
  • Srdjan Dujkovic (Darmstadt, Germany) had a free kick in the 69th minute that sailed into the box and found the foot of Luis Driemel (Berlin, Germany/Leibniz-Schule) who booted it into the back of the net.
  • The goal was Driemel's third of the season.
  • Lock Haven had an uphill battle trying to tie the match. In the 75th minute Chase Tackett received back-to-back yellow cards and was done for the remainder of the evening.
  • Jorge Hernandez (Atvidaberg, Sweden/Bildningscentrum Facetten) and the Gannon defense held the Bald Eagles off the board and secured the victory.
     
GAME NOTES
  • Gannon recognized eight seniors on the team who were playing in their final regular-season contest at McConnell Family Stadium.
  • Lock Haven outshot Gannon, 11-8, 3-2 on goal.
  • Krigbaum and Eduardo de Bonis Encinoso (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain/Escuelas Pias Tenerife) each recorded a team-high three shots.
     
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • The Golden Knights came into the contest ranked ninth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region.
  • Gannon has already secured a PSAC tournament bid but their seeding it is yet to be determined.
  • The Golden Knights can be seeded anywhere from the No. 2-seed to No.5-seed in the six-team PSAC tournament, beginning on Oct. 31.

  • Gannon men's soccer plays its final regular season contest on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Millersville.
